Slice-of-Life Interactive Visual Novel

Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo is a visual novel whose genre can be categorized as slice-of-life. This interactive game from Akabei Soft2 has a rough translation that means The Girl Among the Sunflowers. Before cult favorites, such as Doki Doki Literature Club, visual novel fans had this story. The tale revolves around the obligations that people must face as a form of penalty issued by their government’s justice system. It has notes of politics and dystopia. Considering that it was released in 2005, the game used more modern elements, such as music and cinematography, in an impressive way that gave life to the novel.
